Handball is played on a 40m x 20m court with 3m x 2m goals at each end, surrounded by a D-shaped area called the goal area. The goal area is 6m from the goal and only the goalkeeper can enter. However, players may jump into this area when attempting a shot but must release the ball before landing.

  • Players are not allowed to hit the ball from an opponent’s hand to make a recovery
  • Players can dribble the ball an unlimited number of times
  • A player can only hold the ball for 5 seconds while not moving
  • Players can use any part of the body above the knee to intercept the ball
  • Touching the ball is only permitted for 2 times before making a pass or throwing the ball
