Both teams face off over the course of two 30 minute halves, which are split into 15 minute quarters. Depending on the level of play, these quarters may be shortened in length.

Handball involves passing of ball from one player hand to another progressively with the objective of scoring goals. Hence, there are certain rules of passing the ball among the players. A player cannot take more than three steps while running towards the goal holding the ball, whereas landing after catching the ball will not be counted as a step.

A traditional handball game is played in 2 30-minute halves with a 10 minute break in between. Youth or tournament games are shorter, played in 2 15-minute or 20-minute halves instead. The time marked is the running time of the game. The only times the clock stops are for each team to have one time-out per half, and if there is an injury.

The difference is that you play with your hands. The walls are very similar, and some of the same rules apply. But in my opinion, handball is a bit harder due to the fact that you are using a part of your body to hit the ball, not a wooden racquet. There are two varieties of handball.

Handball is played on a 40m x 20m court with 3m x 2m goals at each end, surrounded by a D-shaped area called the goal area. The goal area is 6m from the goal and only the goalkeeper can enter. However, players may jump into this area when attempting a shot but must release the ball before landing.

To play team handball, each team has to shoot, dribble, and pass a ball in order to score goals over the opposing team. To play singles or doubles handball, which is more popular in America, you have to score against your opponent with the help of one, two, three, or four walls.
